Our Core Values

Connection

Black Nomad aims to expand the community of Black travelers by creating a space to fellowship, express thoughts, and share conversations about interactions with the people they meet along the way. By making international travel easier and showing that travel doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated, everyone will have the opportunity to create unforgettable moments and connections with the places we see and the people we meet.

Authenticity

Real people come with real experiences. We highlight the nuances of travel that come with traveling like a nomad: we don’t just mention tourist attractions and well-known landmarks, we delve deeper into the culture, history, and everyday life of the places we go.

Sustainable Travel

We put the people and the environment first on an individual and communal level. Here are some ways we, as individuals, can respect the land and the people that live there.

No Single Use

Use plastic items like plastic bottles, cups, and straws. Conserve water and electricity.
Eat local while traveling and avoid packaged food apart from water. Travel locally when feasible (avoid air travel, and opt for trains and buses).

Avoid Waste

“Leave nothing but footsteps” carry your waste until you can properly dispose of it. Be an example for others and ask them to do the same when they travel. Support local, sustainable vendors and businesses.

Group Experience
We curate group travel packages for people of color that prefer to explore a country together, or just enjoy making new friends in a new place.
